Housing Begins Up 1.2% in November | ABA Banking Journal


Housing begins elevated to a seasonally adjusted annual fee of 1.547 million in November, in keeping with the U.S. Census Bureau. The rise was 1.2% above the revised October estimate of 1.528 million and is 12.8% above the November 2019 fee of 1.371 million. Single-family house begins elevated 0.4% from final month.

Housing begins have been blended throughout the nation, rising within the Northeast (58.8%) and West (8.2%) however falling within the South (6.0%) and Midwest (4.9%).

New constructing permits have been 1.639 million in November, 6.2% greater from the earlier month and eight.5% greater year-over-year. Single-family constructing permits elevated 1.3% from the revised October determine.

Housing completions have been at a seasonally adjusted annual fee of 1.163 million, down 12.1% from the revised October estimate and 4.8% under the November 2019 fee.
